Willie Wagtail
One Step at a Time

A digital illustration of a Willie Wagtail perched on a rock with a light green background, surrounded by small leaves, accompanied by text describing its bold personality and contrasting calls.

Willie Wagtails are tiny birds, but they have such big personalities. I often see them during my walks here in Western Australia. Even though they’re small, they’re surprisingly brave—they chase away much bigger birds like ravens and magpies without fear. They also have two very different calls: one soft and peaceful, and the other almost angry. I love this contrast. Such a small bird, but full of character.

Blue Wren & Silver Princess

Inspired by the gentle beauty of Western Australia, this artwork features the bright blue Splendid Fairywren and the soft, graceful Silver Princess blossoms I love so much.

Native Flora

Eucalyptus (Red Capped Gum)

Inspired by the fluffy yellow blossoms of Australian eucalyptus and the quiet resilience they symbolize, this piece blends botanical realism with stylized charm.

Hakea cucullata

Hakea cucullata is a striking native species found in Western Australia. Known for its hooded leaves and vibrant pink flowers, it blooms in late winter to spring and is beloved for its sculptural form and ecological uniqueness.
