Blue Wren | Splendid Fairywren-青い小鳥｜ワレン（フェアリーレン）の物語

This artwork started as a small acrylic painting—just 5x7 inches. I painted the Splendid Fairywren, one of Australia’s most loved birds. It’s colorful, cheerful, and often painted by many artists. That’s why I wanted to do something a little different.

While I was happy with the bird itself, the background didn’t feel quite right. The colors were a bit blurred, and it didn’t reflect the feeling I wanted to share. So I decided to recreate the piece digitally. I kept the bird’s pose and colors but designed a new background with geometric lines and soft green tones. It gave the piece a more modern and unique look—something that felt more like my own style.

To my surprise, this digital version became my most saved and reviewed pin on Pinterest. I didn’t expect that kind of response, but I’m so grateful. It’s encouraging to see that people connect with it.

I hope this artwork continues to reach more people—not just for popularity, but because it carries a quiet message: even familiar subjects can be reimagined in new ways. And sometimes, a small change can help a piece truly shine.
